This antique brooch (circa 1850-1870) features a hand painted miniature of a church in the mountains. The trees are accented with macerated hair and the piece is framed in a hand chased 18k gold frame with a gold plated backing. 

The brooch measures 1.1 inches from top to bottom by 1.4 inches wide. The brooch is in very good condition; however, there was some past moisture penetration under the glass that is visible only upon very close magnification.
